Levels
Basics - Great for beginners and people with no prior experience. Also a good class for anyone who wants to brush up on their technique.

Open - Open to all levels. Some prior experience is helpful. Classes will move a little faster than Basics level. It is recommended that you take a few basics level classes first before jumping into an open level class.

Intermediate - Prior experience necessary. These classes are taught on the assumption that everyone in the class knows the basic techniques for that class. The pace is a little faster and will challenge you!

Professional - For professional level dancers and anyone else who have had extensive prior experience. A great class to keep up your technique and keep you fit and healthy!





Cardio and Dance

AM Exercise - Enjoy an energetic cardiovascular workout without harmful jarring movements or harsh impact. Your workout includes rhythmic stretches and warm-ups, aerobics, free weights or dynabands and balance work. Mat work includes Pilates and yoga techniques that strengthen your core.

Ballet Technique - Our ballet classes are for anyone who has always wanted to take ballet, or keep up their technique. The class starts with a standard barre warm-up and progresses to combinations in the center. Basics level classes are great for people new to ballet, or who haven't taken ballet in a long time. Open level classes move a little faster, so you should have some knowledge of the ballet vocabulary. So bring your ballet shoes (or socks) and come dance in a non-threatening environment!

Cardio Tramps & Abs *reservations required* - An abbreviated, 30 minute Cardio Tramps Class, followed by 15 minutes of intense ab work. Reservations required.

Central Park Drills - When’s the last time you really played in the park? This June, Lyn takes her inventive blend of body-blasting moves to the great outdoors. This class combines playful cardio “relay drills”, jogging, and sculpting moves that use the world’s most famous park as a prop. Meet at MonQi, warm-up with a jog to Central Park - and be surprised how much fun you’ll have when you get there!

Children's Creative Dance Club - ages 4 - 6 years - This club for children is an eclectic mix of modern dance, jazz, folk dance, and natural movement. It is a great opportunity to participate in a physical activity that emphasizes developing creativity and imagination using natural movement. Students learn body-space awareness, master locomotor and non-locomotor skills, gain physical confidence, and explore the use of time, space, and energy in dance. Students practice set pieces of choreography, improvise, and create work using their own choreography. The environment is relaxed and non-stressful, and individualism within the group is encouraged. A presentation is given on the last day of each session.

Fun & Fitness - Experience a gentle aerobic workout free of jarring movements. Improve balance, increase stamina and strengthen your muscles, bones & heart. This class is targeted for adults over 60 years old.

RetroRobics - Flashback to the '80's! Join Jeff Martin, one of the first-ever aerobics instructors in Manhattan in this high energy aerobic workout, as he takes you back to the original aerobic workout classes of the '80's. Sing along with Jeff while you burn and sweat to those old but familiar tunes!

SharQui - The Bellydance Workout tm - Blends the most body-loving and soul-stimulating elements of bellydance with an aerobic burn.

Total Body Makeover - A challenging and fun workout designed for all members! The class combines uncomplicated cardio moves and plyometrics with strength training techiniques using free weights, ball, etc. Guaranteed to burn calories, sculpt the entire body.

Ultimate Body Conditioning - Beginning with a cardio warm-up, Jeff will take you through pilates and yoga moves as well as free weights for your ultimate body.





Flexibility and Strength

Awesome Abs & Butt Blast - Half hour of abs and core work, half hour of butt. Simple!

Pilates Mat - A series of exercises performed on a mat to strengthen and lengthen primarily the muscles of the core and lower body, as well as the upper body. Increases overall flexibility.

Pilates Plus - A very low impact, non-aerobic class that focuses on developing the core(abdominal muscles) while also strengthening and lengthening the muscles of the arms, legs, and back without building bulk. This class is good for improving posture and flexibility.

Sit & Get Fit! - Strengthen muscles, joints & bones, work on balance and elevate heart rate in this fun chair exercise class designed for the mature adult. Dynabands used for toning, and some standing leg work using the chair as a barre.

Stretch and Strength - This class is great for everyone! It is designed to increase flexibility, strengthen muscles of the whole body, and release tension and stress. Learn how to stretch properly while toning and lengthening muscles, with focus on the abdominals and back.

The Crossover - Yogasculpt/Pilates - Join the legendary Jeff Martin in his newly created total body workout, combining elements of yoga, sculpt and pilates for the best you yet!

Gentle Yoga - A softer, slower paced, less rigorous class for new or experienced students of all ages. This class is excellent for those just getting back to Yoga or fitness or just starting out. Also for those with injuries or physical conditions ruling out other classes. The supported modification of all asanas (poses) makes this class excellent for "bad backs" and pregnant women.

Iyengar Yoga - is based on the teachings of living Yoga master BKS Iyengar . The method of study is orderly and progressive, and the postures are adjusted to meet the physical conditions and needs of each student. It is great for beginners as well as experienced practitioners, excellent at any age. Classes can be gentle or rigorous and consider each student’s individual needs.

MonQi Bars Yoga 3-5 1/2 yrs. - Children are natural yogis! MonQi Bars yoga, a calming yet playful class, will help your child gain flexibility through simple yoga postures and deep breathing. The class will focus on animal role-playing and learning respect for self and others.

Vinyasa Yoga - A flowing sequence of asanas (postures) in which the breath and movements combine together to create a dynamic experience. Alignment and an open connection between the breath and the body are explored. A fun and energetic class that allows you to develop more self awareness, as you purify the body and mind. All levels are welcome.
